The admission plan of UPC’s doctoral programs in 2018 reached 253, an increase of 46 over that of 2017, including a quota of 15 for the newly added program of Energy and Environment Protection. A dynamic adjustment mechanism for admission plans has been established, with the doctoral quota of high-level talents listed separately for the first time. The total number of enrolled doctoral students has exceeded 1000, over-fulfilling the 13th five-year-plan target (900).
In 2018, the university enrolled 2,422 graduate students, including 253 doctoral students, 1,001 full-time academic master’s students, 874 full-time professional master’s students and 294 part-time professional master’s students. Among the master’s students, 49.9% graduated from universities of Project 211 or above, an increase of 7% over the previous year.
